the untouchables

‘death is always a matter of time’ we used to say

yet I still cry silently
walking to our ruined school
bringing my heart and the empty bag

I’ve got used of the smell of dust–like we always had
how strange when it feels different, now I am all alone

since our school has gone
and so were your bodies, my best friends
Malik, Sasha, Abdullah, Aisya

but they can’t touch and destroy our spirit, never
for all we believed
that all pray we had would never failed to touch the universe
that one day there will be no more evil people
because the good ones are going to win

goodness, will always win
